"Bri, baby, wake up," Nick said. I opened my eyes and looked around and saw him standing over me. "Thank god, I thought it was real," I said sitting up. He sat down. "What, baby," Nick said. I told him all about my dream. "We better tell your parents in person," Nick said. I called my parents and asked them to come down. Nick called his parents and asked them to come over at five o'clock. He called the guys and told them the same thing.
At five o'clock, everyone was there. Mom, Dad, Harold JR, Jane, Bob, BJ, Angel, Aaron, Leslie, Brian, Leighanne, Kevin, Kristen, AJ, Amanda, and Howie were in the living room. "We have something to tell all of you, we thought it would be best if we told all of you at once, Bri and I got married yesterday," Nick said. "WHAT!" Dad and Bob shouted. I grabbed Nick's hand. "Bri and I got married," Nick said. "How could you do this!" Dad yelled. "Dad, please," I said. "Why did you get married?" Dad asked angrily. "Because I love him!" I said. "That's it, are you pregnant!" Dad yelled. "No, I'm not, Dad, we got married because we want to be together forever, we got married because we love each other and can't live without each other," I said. "Oh, I see," Dad said. "Please, Daddy, be happy for me," I said. "You always know how to get me, come here," Dad said hugging me. "I love you, Dad, I always will," I said hugging him tight. "I love you, too," Dad said. Everyone hugged us. "Well, Nick, we are glad that you are our son-in-law, since we consider you a son, you are officially one now, welcome to our family," Jackie said hugging him. "Thanks, Jackie, I promise not to hurt her, ever," Nick said. "You better not," Jackie said. Later that night, after everyone left, Nick and I sat down. "That was easy," I said. "Oh yeah, and nothing bad happened," Nick said. "I'm glad, I love you, Nick, so much," I said. "I love you, too, baby girl," Nick said. We went upstairs and went to bed holding each other. The next morning, I woke up to the phone ringing. I reached over and grabbed it. "Hello," I said. "Yes, is Nick there, this is Jeff," the guy said. "Just a sec," I said. I put the phone down and turned to Nick. I shook him. "Nick, wake up," I said. He woke up. "What, what is it?" Nick asked. I handed him the phone. "Phone, it's Jeff," I said. Nick took the phone.
"Hey Jeff, what's up, what, you're kidding, oh man, okay, thanks, bye," Nick said. He hung up and looked at me. "What is it?" I asked. "The guys and I are going on tour, for nine months," Nick said. "What," I said. I laid back down and faced away. "I don't want to go," Nick said. "But you have to," I said crying. "Baby, I'm sorry," Nick said. "I know," I said crying. He wrapped his arms around me and held me as I cried. I got up and went downstairs. Nick followed me. "Baby, please," Nick said. I grabbed my purse and went to Brians. He opened the door and saw me. "Hey sis," Brian said. I started crying. Brian hugged me. "I don't want him to leave," I said crying. "I know, sis, come on, let's sit down," Brian said. We sat down. "I can't live nine months without him," I said crying. "Bri, Nick loves you, anyone can see that, I know he doesn't want to leave you, but this is part of being a Backstreet Boy's wife, dealing with him gone all the time," Brian said. "Brian, I would have felt this way if Nick and I weren't married, too," I said crying. "We're leaving in a month, go spend this month with him, spend every single day, every single moment with him," Brian said. I hugged Brian and went home. I walked in and put my purse and keys down. I felt arms around me. "I love you, baby girl," Nick said kissing my neck. "I love you, too, you guys leave in a month, let's spend this last month together, every single day, every single minute with each other," I said turning in his arms. "I'm up for that," Nick said. I hugged him. He held me. Three weeks later, Nick was all packed and ready to go. The last month, we spent in each others arms making love every night. I was still on birth control pills but we dropped the condoms. Leighanne, Kristen, Amanda, and I were at the airport to see the guys off.
"We'll see you at Easter," Brian said. "That's four months away," Leighanne said. I was holding onto Nick, resting my head on his shoulder. "Guys, time to board," Kevin said. He kissed and hugged Kristen. AJ and Amanda kissed and hugged. Brian and Leighanne kissed and hugged. Kevin hugged me. "See ya, cuz," Kevin said. "Bye, Kev, I'll miss ya," I said. "Miss you, too," Kevin said. He and Howie boarded the plane. AJ hugged me, Leighanne, and Kristen and boarded the plane. Brian hugged me tight. "Talk to ya later, sis," Brian said. "I'll miss you," I said hugging him tight. He boarded the plane. I hugged Nick. "I'll miss you the most," I said. "I'll miss you more," Nick said. I pulled back and kissed him deeply. "Call me when you get there," I said. "I will, I better go, I'll turn around, I better see a smile," Nick said. I kissed him again. "Frack, come on," Brian said. Nick pulled away and wiped my tears away with his thumbs. He turned and went to the gate. He turned and I smiled a little. He smiled. He boarded the plane. Leighanne wrapped her arms around me and I collapsed against her crying. "It'll be okay, Bri," Leighanne said. "I love him so much," I said crying. "I know you do, I felt the same way about Brian, I love him very much, this is killing me, but I can get through it, they will be home for Easter," Leighanne said. "That's four months, Leighanne, I'll miss him if he was only gone for a day," I said crying. "We'll be here for you, Bri, we'll stay with you," Kristen said standing beside me. We all went to mine and Nick's house. Kristen, Amanda, and Leighanne went to get their stuff and came back over. Leighanne let Tyke and Litty Leigh out of their cage. They ran around. I sat down. Tyke jumped up and curled up in my lap. "I think he knows you are Brian's sister, he did the same thing with Harold JR and that was when Tyke first saw him," Leighanne said. I petted Tyke. He licked my hands and laid his head back down. That night, the phone rang. Leighanne grabbed it. "Hello, Carter residence, how may I help you," Leighanne said. "May I speak to Mrs. Carter, please," Nick said. "Whos calling?" Leighanne asked smiling. "Her husband, Leighanne, let me talk to Bri," Nick said. "She's not here, she ran off with some guy," Leighanne said grinning. "Yeah, sure, let me talk to her," Nick said. "I'm serious, she's with another guy, he's actually in her lap," Leighanne said. "Yeah, sure, Leighanne, I'll get Brian after you," Nick said.
"Oh I'm scared," Leighanne said. "Leighanne Wallace, give me the phone!" I shouted. "I'm having too much fun," Leighanne said. I put Tyke on the floor. I grabbed the phone from Leighanne. "I would like to talk to my husband, thank you," I said. "I'm not done!" Leighanne said. "Kristen, get her!" I said. Kristen grabbed Leighanne and held her down. "Hey honey," I said. "She's crazy," Nick said. "I'll put her in a mental hospital," I said looking at Leighanne. "That a girl, how's my baby girl doing?" Nick said. "I miss you," I said. I went into the kitchen. I went out by the pool and sat down. "I miss you, too, baby, I wish you could've come with us," Nick said.
"What about my music career?" I asked. "You just got done touring with N'Sync, remember, now, a long vacation, okay," Nick said. "Okay, I love you," I said. "I love you, too, baby, here, Brian wants to talk to you," Nick said. "Hey, sis, how's it going?" Brian asked. "I'm about to kill your fiancée," I said. "What did she do now?" Brian asked. "Ask Nick," I said. "Hold on a sec," Brian said. I heard muffled talking. "Bri, tell Leighanne if she doesn't behave, no more loving," Brian said. "Just a sec," I said. I went in and saw Leighanne sitting there. "Leighanne, Brian says if you don't behave, no more loving," I said. "I'll behave," Leighanne said. I went back outside and sat down. "She'll behave," I said. "Good, okay, here's your hubby, talk to ya later, sis," Brian said. "Love ya, bro," I said. "Love ya, too," Brian said. "Hey baby girl, I better go, I'll call you tomorrow, okay," Nick said. "You better, I love you," I said. "I love you, too, baby, bye," Nick said. "Bye," I said. I went back inside and sat down and talked with the girls.
